The Program on Climate Change (PCC), a group of graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty and staff at the University of Washington, is committed to bringing the public up-to-date on the background and issues related to global warming and climate variability, on a global and regional scale. We work closely with the PNW Climate Impacts Group, who focuses on the impacts of climate change to the Pacific Northwest, to bring the most appropriate speakers to your event.
Since the PCC began providing speakers to the public in Fall 2005, we have responded to requests for speakers from elementary, middle and high schools, community colleges, rotary clubs, church groups, and more; we have manned booths at fairs and conferences, and have provided panelists for discussions before the movie "An Inconvenient Truth". We continue to welcome new opportunities to talk with the public about climate related issues.
If your group needs a speaker on climate change, please fill out the
Speaker Request Form. Inquiries are carefully evaluated to identify the needs of the audience and to determine the most suitable presenter(s). You will receive an automated
response that your request has been received, which will be followed up once a speaker for your event has been identified, generally within 7-10 business days of the request.
Feel free to contact the Program on Climate Change office for assistance (206-543-6521, firstname.lastname@example.org).
