NASA Applied Science Grant awarded to PCC affiliates Janneke Hille Ris Lambers and Jessica Lundquist

PCC affiliates Janneke Hille Ris Lambers and Jessica Lundquist have received a grant from NASA's Applied Sciences division to work at Mount Rainier and North Cascades national parks to study how data with satellite imagery can help forecast dates of snow melt and peak flower bloom. Ris Lambers has worked with high school teachers participating in the PCC's NASA Global Climate Change Education Project, taking them to her research sites on Mount Rainier. Lundquist supervises grad students working on a rain and snow module for the dual credit ATMOS 211 climate course.
