[Bio] Dr. Julie Librakin: "Visual Literacy and Learning"

The biology department has invited Dr. Julie Librakin to give a seminar entitled "Visual Literacy and Learning" on May 17, 2011 (Tue) at 4 p.m. HCK 123. Julie is an associate professor from the Department of Geological Sciences and Division of Science and Mathematics Education at Michigan State University. Julie's research focuses on understanding "geocognition", a description of both the mechanisms by which novices gain understanding of geologic phenomena and the nature of working geological expertise. She has performed extensive research in areas of science education and cognitive science.
