Speaker: Dr. Lawson W. Brigham
Please join us for an evening with Dr. Lawson W. Brigham. Dr. Brigham was Deputy Director and Alaska Office Director of the U.S. Arctic Research Commission in Anchorage from 2001-2008. He is currently Chair of the Arctic Marine Shipping Assessment of the Arctic Council.
The Arctic Ocean is undergoing extraordinary changes. Exploration and development of its natural resources have accelerated to where the Arctic is poised to be a new player in the global economy. In this talk Dr. Brigham will discuss the environmental challenges and unusual geopolitics facing an already complex future for the maritime Arctic.
