The Climate Impacts Group, in partnership with Washington State University and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, is conducting a first-ever climate impacts assessment for the state of Washington. The assessment evaluates the impacts of climate change on the following sectors: agriculture, coasts, energy, forests, human health, hydrology and water resources, infrastructure (specifically related to stormwater management), and salmon. The work, funded by the Washington State Legislature in 2007, will be completed by December 2008.

The CIG will convene a one day conference on February 12, 2009, at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center (WSCTC) in downtown Seattle to share the results of the Washington Climate Impacts Assessment.
