CLIMATE/OCEAN/ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCE/ESS OUTREACH OPEN HOUSE
PCC, Oceanography, Atmospheric Science and Earth and Space Science graduate
students, staff and faculty involved in outreach and informal education in a
multitude of ways are invited to an informal gathering on Tuesday, April 28
at 4:30 in OSB 425.
This is the first event of its kind, designed to acknowledge and thank those
engaged in outreach, to provide an opportunity to learn what the different
programs offer, to see some of the hands-on tools used, and to hear what
young and old staff and faculty have to say about the relevance of outreach
involvement in their career and job satisfaction. Learn what kinds of
activities the four groups are asked to respond to and how you can get
involved.
Some old and new faces that will be on hand: Chris Bretherton (PCC, Atmos),
Tom Ackerman (JISAO, Atmos), Richard Gammon (Ocean), Katharine Huntington
(ESS), Tansy Clay (CoSEE), Dargan Frierson (Atmos), and Julie Keister
(Ocean).
Pizza provided, thus RSVP needed by MONDAY, APRIL 27. E-mail uwpcc@u.washington.edu with your
RSVP.
Co-organized by outreach representatives Emily Fischer and Lucas Harris for
Atmospheric Sciences, Alison Rogers and Lia Slemons for Oceanography and
Paul Hezel and Miriam Bertram for the Program on Climate Change.
